School is out for summer (who doesn't think of Alice Cooper when you hear those words?). That means there may not be much to post until the school board election rolls around, assuming there are enough candidates to make it interesting. You can't beat somebody with nobody and right now that is the way it appears to be shaping up.
Here are the key dates for the 2009 School Board Election. Remember, four incumbents are up for re-election for four year terms (Caldwell-Johnson, Boesen, Link and who is the other one? Oh yeah, Narcisse):
Monday, July 6 — first day to file nomination papers
Thursday, July 30 — last day to file nomination papers with the school secretary at 901 Walnut Street (downtown at 10th and Walnut) by 5 p.m.
Tuesday, August 4 — last day to withdraw papers
Tuesday, September 8 — school board election
